Play detail

Only songs and charts available in the game from the start are selectable; content from the MAX Points Shop will not be used during this tournament.

Songs will be picked out randomly

It is recommended that you bring or borrow headphones for use during this tournament

If you fail a song during any round of the tournament: your score for that song, as well as any in the set that you didn't get to play, will be zero.

This will be a competition in two parts. Machine score will be used for the entire duration of the tournament.

Part One will be a gauntlet-style competition and will consist of 3 Pop Mixing rounds. There will be no eliminations during Part One; everyone will play all 3 rounds. One or more Round Styles will be announced at the beginning of each round. This will determine how the round is played (see descriptions below).

Play order for the first round will be determined by either volunteers or randomly (or a combination of both); play order for rounds 2 and 3 will be determined by performance in the previous round. After all 3 rounds have been played, each entrant's 3 lowest song scores will be dropped and the other 6 will be combined to determine their total score for Part One. All entrants will be ranked by these total scores. The top 8 entrants will proceed to Part Two; all others will be eliminated.

Part Two will consist of head-to-head matches between the 8 remaining entrants. You will be seeded and bracketed based on your Part One scores. This will be single-elimination; if you lose your match you will be eliminated from the competition. An extra match will be played to decide 3rd place. (5th through 8th place will be determined by performance in Part One.)

Round of 8: Pop Mixing. All 3 songs will be played. The top seed can choose either the play order OR have first pick of what stage they would like to choose a song from. No mods.

- The player with the first pick will select a stage. They will then choose the song and chart for this stage when it comes up. Before this happens, they do not have to reveal what song they intend to pick. (Remember, only Technika 2 songs and charts available from the start are selectable.)

- The other player may choose one of the two remaining stages.
- I will choose the song on the last remaining stage, based on pre-generated random numbers.
Your scores from all 3 songs will be added together. Highest total score wins the match.

Round of 4: Club Mixing. The course will be chosen for you. The top seed can choose either the play order OR have first song pick. No mods.
- The player with the first pick will choose a song, and what stage to play it on.
- The other player can then choose a second song, and what stage to play it on.
- I will fill the remaining empty slot, based on pre-generated random numbers.
Highest course score wins.

Round of 2, and 3rd place match: Club Mixing. The course will be chosen for you. At least one mod or Round Type will be applied. All picks will then happen just as they did in the Round of 4. Highest course score wins. Good luck!

Part One Round Styles
-----
Not all listed Round Styles will be used. No Round Style will be used more than once. Part One will be played entirely in Pop Mixing mode.

Normal: No gimmicks or mods. Songs will be announced at the start of the round.

Mods: we will draw at least one modifiers for each stage, limited to fade in 1, fade out 1, blink, blink 2 and blind reverse, right, left swipe

Not bad, pero masyadong malaki ang 250 na entrance. Make it smaller para mas maka-attract pa ng participants.

Here are some of my comments:

1. Before we can settle with an entry fee, it's important to note what the prizes are. It will probably be better to see that the whole pool (in this case, P4,000) will be spent on prizes for the winners.

2. TIME! Let's compute how long the tournament will approximately take:
-First Round: Estimated 8 minutes for one player to finish 3 pop-mode stages (clearing all 3 stages, including boot-up, loading screen, etc.). There are 16 players, and this will be repeated 3 times. 8 * 16 * 3 = 384 minutes ~ 6.5 hours.
-Second Round: 4 matches of Pop mode = 32 minutes ~ 0.5 hours
- Third Round and Fourth: 4 matches of Club mode (approx 10 minutes) ~ 0.5 hours
So the tournament will take 7.5 hours to complete? That is roughly 12nn to 7:30pm. Oh, and not only that, we cannot just simply block someone else wanting to play T2 just for the sake of the tourney, we don't own the machine Sad
3. Round pairings are better this way (I'm not sure if this is already what will be implemented) :
First Tier:
1v4
2v3
Second Tier:
5v8
6v7
Third Tier:
9v12
10v11
Fourth Tier:
13v16
14v15

Usually the above pairing is better than the typical 1v2, 3v4, etc... to ensure that two strong players won't battle for a top tier spot, and one strong player falling off. (sorry if I explained it poorly)

3. It's probably better to have effectors consistency throughout the whole tournament. I mean from the start, we should already decide if effectors will be used on ALL or NONE of the rounds. Not every player practices on effectors, and it may not be fair for some stronger players who hardly even touch the effectors.

Though those are just quick comments I generated, if you need some help with the tourney planning, I can happily help out.
