I dislike people who don't even try when there are people around who are serious about it.
And don't try and contradict me by saying "Hey, I never said I won't try!" when all your posts STRONGLY imply otherwise.

Ok so...

Last night my HDD in my main laptop decided to go Kaput, it blew up, haw haw haw. It won't read and it reports as one big partition. That'll teach me not to make backups.

Anyway, been running recovery program after recovery program on my eeePC with the HDD hooked up to it for 24+ hours, errors are saying "These sectors from 1 to the end-of-the-platter are corrupted. HAHA NOTHING I CAN DO YOU SHOULD'VE BACKED UP".

On a hunch I slapped it back into the laptop and booted up a linux Live CD/USB and booted up the laptop, I get into linux and LO AND BEHOLD I CAN ACCESS THE DRIVE AND COPY EVERYTHING OUT (although very slowly).
