i seriously don't really understand if its a 'ghost' of the player or just rng bullshit, i played the last mission, my space of soul went like 281 the first game the the NPC hit 283, then next game i literally broke once or twice, and got like 286, and he got 288 WTF? so i was like calm down. hes korean LOL what i always say to myself if i lost in crew race hahaha

No idea, I could ask Shounen to provide me these details but it's such a minor thing that I feel there's not much point going to the extent of knowing it, especially when DJmax leveling system have never make sense or constant.
